The Walnut Street Center Respite House offers a wide variety of supports
and services for individuals and their families.
Respite Supports offers planned visits developed with families to best
accommodate their needs as well as emergency services in response to
crisis. In addition, Respite provides transitional housing and assessment
of skills for individuals awaiting placement in Residential Supports.
On a daily basis community outings and recreational activities are
available to all individuals involved in the program. Respite staff
work closely with families to assure that they receive the support that
best suit their needs.
The Respite House is open 24 hours a day and the staffing pattern is
adjusted to reflect the needs of the individuals. The house provides
services for individuals as young as 18 years of age and throughout
the later years of adulthood. All levels of skills and abilities are
accommodated.
