Community-
Based Day Supports provides activities that focus on life skills, community
integration, social inclusion, leisure and recreation as well as opportunities
for paid and volunteer work. Participation in the community at large is
an integral role of this support.
A variety of trainings, therapies, and group discussions are offered
in order to meet the needs of each individual. Trainings take place
in both group and individual settings to best support and improve the
quality of each person's life.
Daily discussion groups address a wide variety of topics such as human
rights, fire safety, health and nutrition, and current events.
Speech therapy is available for individuals with communication needs,
both verbal and non- verbal. Occupational therapy offers training in
sign language, social skills, home alone readiness and nutrition as
well as motor skills. Music therapy teaches individuals about rhythm,
harmony and song development.
Community Based Day Supports is always seeking innovative ways to provide
any supports an individual might need or want that may enrich that person's
life.
